Piano Lessons in Wallingford, Seattle

I'm Eric Wittenmyer, a piano teacher offering private, in-home lessons for kids and adults in Wallingford. From the houses near Gas Works Park and Lake Union up to the shops along North 45th Street, I come to you, so lessons fit around school, work and everything else on the calendar.

Lessons built around the student

No two students learn the same way. A six-year-old's first lesson looks very different from an adult's return to the keyboard, and I plan each lesson around who you are and what you want to play. Along the way we cover:

  • Reading music and rhythm

  • Healthy hand position and technique

  • Music theory that makes pieces easier to learn

  • Practice methods that actually stick between lessons

Lesson lengths

30 minutes: ideal for beginners, with time to learn something new, practice it together and set up the week.
45 minutes: for students who are progressing, with more time for feedback and healthy practice techniques.
60 minutes: for students who want more one-on-one time on technique, theory and musical form.

About Eric

I studied Music Education at Western Washington University and taught choir part-time in a public school for three years. I've performed in choirs, handbell ensembles and musical theater, and I sing with the Seattle Men's Chorus. I believe everyone has a musician inside them, and my job is to help you find yours.
