Piano Lessons in Ballard, Seattle
Ballard has one of Seattle's liveliest music scenes, with live music venues up and down Ballard Avenue. If you or your child want to make music of your own, I offer private, in-home piano lessons throughout Ballard, from Golden Gardens and Sunset Hill to the Ballard Locks and Crown Hill. I'm Eric Wittenmyer, and I come to your home so practice and lessons happen at the same piano.
Who I teach in Ballard
Young beginners: learning to read music, find notes on the keyboard and build good practice habits from day one
Students who are progressing: scales, technique, theory and pieces that stretch their skills
Adults: whether you've always wanted to play or you took lessons as a kid and want to come back
Why in-home lessons?
Learning on the instrument you practice on every day makes a real difference. I can see how your piano is set up, help with posture and seating at home, and you skip the drive and parking. Lessons are available in 30, 45 and 60-minute lengths.
My background
My own musical path started with piano lessons as a kid and grew through school choirs, handbell ensembles, college choirs and musical theater. I studied Music Education at Western Washington University, taught choir part-time at a public school for three years, and I'm a proud member of the Seattle Men's Chorus.
